Ascoli is a lovely countryside town about 3 1/2 hours east of Rome, population: 37,000. Quite a few english-speaking folk there, most of whom we met while touring the town on our first day.

We met with several officials in the Ascoli Piceno town hall, including the President of the Ascoli Piceno region, Pietro Colonnella . He and other cultural officials attended our first public concert in Ascoli at Auditorium Carisap.

There is beauty in simplicity. They showed us much of the tradition and history of the town; check out the link at the top of the page for more information. We learned alot from the students.
