April 19 1998: The Egg Drop
Contest:
Melissa Morrell
spearheaded this campaign, which was carried out on a gray
sunday afternoon. A dozen entrants were supplied with various materials
to build
structures that might protect an egg from the adverse
effects of a thirty foot drop onto cement. Scoring was based on two
data: whether
the egg broke or not, and the time elapsed while falling to the ground.
Engineers and non-engineers alike participated, with the grand prize,
sadly enough, being stolen by the latter.

es.

The Widget Contest information is posted on the bulletin board between Silvio and Cheever's offices. If you're interested, go read about it and get some people together to work on it. This looks really fun!
