Synopsis
I heard about this series because it was picked up by one of my favorite fan subbing groups. It’s short 12 episode series, so I figured that it would be worth my time to check it out. Basically it’s the story of a teenage guy named Tomokazu who, when he falls asleep, travels to a dream world that some evil creatures (they look kind of like glorified Euclidian solids that fire lasers to me) are trying to take over. When these girls from his life start appearing in his dreams, Tomokazu finds that he can give them magical powers to fight these forces of evil by…um…groping them. Yes, that’s right. Magical powers via gratuitous groping. That’s really all you need to know about the series.
PLOT: 65%
Wait a second….there’s a plot to this? Oh, right. They do attempt to have some sort of continuity, but it’s really just twelve episodes of good-looking, scantily-clad antics with some crazy laser beams and large weapons thrown in there for good show. Most of the plot “twists” are predictable, and though there are many funny moments (a teacher who particularly enjoys torturing Tomokazu is hilarious), in general there’s very little plot to be had.
CHARACTERS: 55%
I think the only thing that really distinguishes the female characters from each other are their bust sizes which seem to be proportional to their forwardness with Tomokazu. There is very little character development, and with such a silly situation there really isn’t any needed, but it would have been a nice bonus, I guess.
ART: 70%
The art, Divergence Eve-esque, is pretty decent. It looks nice, and the females are well-drawn if over-drawn. I wouldn’t say visually stunning, but I would say decent.
SOUNDTRACK: 45%
The music just seems silly and out of place to me, but maybe that’s because everything in this show does.
CONCLUSION: 60% Overall
Good for killing brain cells, but watch it on your own in case kids on your hall start making fun of you.
