First, some FAQs:
a) You do NOT need an SCCS account to have a blog. You do, however, need either a Swarthmore email address or an SCCS email address. One more reason to get an account with SCCS- your SCCS email address will always exist!
b) Your username (see step 1) does not have to be personal- it can be something like “activism_club_web_designer” or even just the name of the organization.
If you want a personal blog, you’re in the wrong place! Go here instead.
OK, now how to get a blog:
1. Go to here and create an SCCS Orgs account.
2. Choose the permanent url for the blog. This you cannot change! This will be the main url for the site, for instance http://orgs.sccs.swarthmore.edu/my_swat_org
3. Verify your account–you will receive an email to the account you registered with.
3. Go here and log in. You’ll be redirected to the admin site.
If you want to get a custom look, or to use a theme that isn’t included in our massive collection of around 200, go look for more. If you find one you absolutely must have, email us with a URL to the site. If it will run, we’ll install it.
