Hurricane Irene is expected to hit southeastern Pennsylvania late Saturday night, and Chester County’s under a tropical storm warning (see http://live.psu.edu/story/54712). Between the 60 mph winds perhaps knocking down power lines to the school and the 4-8 inches of rain potentially causing the server room to flood, there’s a good chance we’ll be unavailable at some point this weekend. Unlike SEPTA, though, we promise to go down fighting.
If/when SCCS goes down, this website and all of the websites we host will be unavailable, mailing lists will stop working, and in the case of a school-wide outage all SCCS email will stop working as well. Be forewarned that the downtime could be as long as all of Sunday, though we’ll do our best to be online again as soon as possible. See you on the other side!
Updated: Sun’s shining, rain’s passed – looks like power/internet should be fine from here on out. Aaaand the all-time results, water damage to SCCS:
- Hurricane Irene: 0
- Ville kid with powerade: 1
